acer aspire 5315 burning probs

Hi peeps, got this laptop,"acer aspire 5315" from a friend to have a look at, as it was not burning any discs, it seems to be playing all avi's, cd's etc, but everytime i try to burn a disc using "at the moment ashampoo 10" it does not want to burn any disc at all, tried 2 or 3 different types of discs but stil have the same problem, anyone any idea why it will read but not write, cheers

hi, you try other burning program. or you can't ?
and make sure your device can burn CD type you want burn.
maybe it's can burn only basic CD 700 MB
or can't burn any CD's - just read

Try cleaning the lens with some cotton drenched in 96% alcohol. just touch the lens no rubbing!

try changing your burn software to img burn or clone cd/dvd

laser probably gone mate, classic symptom only reading cd/dvd,they do burn out, really cheap to replace though
