Dell's "Password Authentication System" has a unique password for each laptop based on their service tag. There is also a password that can be enabled for the hard drive. These passwords are NOT user changeable and therefore, can be easily recovered by Dell's customer service if requested by the owner. Once you get passed the BIOS password screen, then you can disable/enable it if you want.
I happen to have the application that generates the password based on your service tag. I don't mind helping a few people out so they don't have to bother calling Dell or shorting out a pin on their chipset.Comment

@gremzilla559
I am curious as to why you need this password? or actually more why you do not know this password?
@euro sport
How do you know that the use is legit... aka non stolen laptop?
That would be something hunting my mind when I would give away these passwords.Comment

If there is no jumper, you could try to find the BIOS-Battery and remove it for app. 5 to 10 minutes. But on notesbooks the BIOS-Batteries are often hard-soldered!
