    Display Problem on Ubuntu...

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo laptop, (it is my wife's) and just recently i had ubuntu on it.

I have a problem and yes i googled it but nothing helped me. The display cannot change from 800 x 600...

What is it to be done cause she thinks that having Vista back on the laptop will be better...

Display for notebook is problematic in linux, mostly because there is no EDID information for the integrated LCD and the safest approach is taken (800x600). Either you have to learn how to configure xorg.conf or if lucky, Fujitsu has linux display driver for the notebook you have. If I were you, I would go back to Vista. I only use linux (Ubuntu) for notebooks that are very old (P3 600Mhz) and not powerful enough to run even XP.

exiting the xorg.conf isnt too tricky and theres plenty of guides to do it. You should be able to enable the larger resolutions. have you checked on ubuntu forums for anybody elses xorg.conf?
I can fix that for you no problems, just let me find my good hammer..

        what xorg driver

Can u tell us what driver is xorg using? See /var/log/xorg.*.log for that info. Probably generic svga or similar..

Also, what video device hw do u have? Nvidia, ati, other? For that see output of lspci command in terminal.

If those logs and text on the terminal are unreadable for u, ataach them here.

xorg.conf isn't used much normally now. Google xrandr and have a mess with that.
