I guess the ink overflow tank is full.
Ink that isn't used flows into this small tank inside your printer.
When it is full the printer gives that error.

Cleaning is difficult as you need to dissasemble your printer..

it's not broken definitly, good luck fixing it!

As Sanscorp says your waste ink tank is probably full. The proper repair entails dismantling the printer - removing the old waste ink pad and replacing with a new one, then resetting the counter.

The counter can be reset without servicing the pad but eventually the pad will become saturated and overflow ink from the bottom of your printer.

A couple of years ago I successfully removed the pad from my Epson Stylus 880 and washed it out under the tap the pad was allowed to dry and then refitted. The counter was reset with the an earlier version of the attached utility and is still working today

However if you are not confident with disassembling your printer and due to the low price of modern printers and the fact that the epson C46 is somewhat old I would advise purchasing a newer model.

            printer problem

what you can do is that install all the drivers and the resart the printer and the problem should go.

              Hi James

I've got a similar printer , a D68 , when that message comes up on mine it means the excess ink pads need changing. Basically it has flat pads that soak up the spare ink.

After I stripped mine down I found that the counter that is used is vary optomistic and the pads wern't as bad as it made out. Useing SSC utility I reset the counter and have been useing it ever since ( It has been reset once more since then ) without changing the pads , but I am keeping an eye on it and have spares available.

Epson want about 50 quid for a 'service' which basically means change the pads and reset the counter.

              Adam
