i think the sata controler in bios is deactivated

or you have to create a raid partition with the sata controller in bios mode ( ctrl + f) or something like that

you can look in the device manager 4 the sata drive

Goto Start > Settings > Control Panel > System.

          Select Hardware > Device Manager.

Look in Hard Drives. If the drive is listed then the system is working correctly. You might need to format the drive between Fat32 & NTFS.

I had a similar problem in the past. Just can't remember exactly what I had to do.

The strange think that i can see in the screenshot is that there
is no hard disk at all.

It seems to me like a registry problem, probably caused by a virus.

In windows explorer (or any file manager) is the drive visible ?

            This problem apperared recently ?

I am afraid that you may need a clean windows installation.

start/programes/accessories/command prompt then you can try the infomation you have been given.

having looked for solutions to your problem on the web somthing that does occur in the answers is that it could be some sort of trojan or rootkit that can cause this effect of no hd in disk managment, there are free root kit software downloads if you install and run it may find that this is the cause of the problem anyway its worth a try.

Now you have 2 options or do you install a good antivirus and catch that virus or you format your PC and install XP again.

I will find a good program to you. to install to bust out that virus.
