I think first thing is to sort out if the problem is hardware or software related.
Try booting from a boot cd ( hiren's -> http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd ) and try to connect the usb device again. If that not works it must be hardware related (Check bios settings !!)

You are right; Also check with another device (is a memorystick recognized ?).

This hasn't been asked yet, but are you over extending the usb lead?

Make sure you are only using a short usb lead. Otherwise all other tests will fail to solve the problem

I determined at 100% damaged RTL8150l (swapped with another device, and worked)

Sometimes it could be a malware, it would be nice for your computer if you use another one different from your antivirus, and run it once in a while.
Hope u can resolve your problem m8.

                    hello,
Unfortunately, the fault lies on the side of the CPU (Realtek RTL 8150l)

Jurandpif. I had a problem like that with my laptop. I installed two software programs that may have conflict with each other. And it was told to have. One was Ford IDS and the other Honda IDS. I removed Honda from hard drive. And after that when I plug in Ford tool it asked for Realtek RTL8150L. I did search and found latest driver (Realtek) and installed it. That took care of it. Once in a great while it asks for it,so I reinstall it again. When I get chance I'll format that drive and that will take care of it. Note: leave shortcut to it where you can find it fast. My other two hard drives don't have this problem when I hook up my ford tool to it,because I didn't install those programs on same hard drive again.

RobbyD. if you have experience with VCM, Ford and Honda GNA?
From what you write programs cause conflicts
Both devices are based on the same network card
I damaged the chip in the adapter.
and solved the problem in June to install on another partition help
                          greet

Jurandpif. Partition is one way. I find it easier to swap out hard drives. I run Ford Ids ,Landrover/Jag and Honda. They might appear as the same, but their not. Different drivers and flashes. That's why I use my HIM not my Ford VCM to do Hondas. Some people say they had good luck running all three of those programs on the Ford vcm tool. But not on same drive. Or at least partitioned. I also heard people locked their tool from going back and forth from Ford to Honda. I notice when I had both installed on same drive I was getting ask for RTL8150L alot when I hooked up Ford VCM tool. And I wasn't getting that before. Till I installed Honda HDS. So Honda GNA600 is not same as Ford VCM. The theory on J2534 tools. All should be same. Their not. Thats why one tool cannot do all vehicles.
