NX 9040 HP Notebook

I have NX9040 notebook. Somehow some program was deleted and now the keyboard does not register. It gives an error code 39 and the I/O port is being used by the touchpad (Synaptics).

Tried the installation of all the device drivers again but still get the same error.

Incidently, the graphics card also has the same i/o port error code 39.

What can be wrong. I replace the hard drive with another one that has similar installations, and works perfectly.

Is it possible that some of the device dlls are corrupted so cannot get the right configurations as cannot change the i/o on all the error items. It is greyed out.

Help would be appreciated.

hi, after reinstall drivers everything shuld work properly, but if in windows are some sereous error it can be a problem

go into device manager and check all the hardware listed and see if there is any explanation marks against any of your hardware if there is highlite and right click and update or install from the box that appears, let the pc search online for drivers.

you should delete keyboard driver and install again, I think that will help

Guys tks for the replies. I tried all that .... uninstalling all the device drivers in question and let the windows find the right device driver.

I think the search goes in loop and finds the wrong device.

Ill try tmrw to delete the drivers in the registry and see if they look for new files.

Last resort will be to reinstall windows (repair mode) and see if works.
