    My Dell laptop killing hard drive

    SOS please my laptop is killing hard drive; this will be the second hard drive that my dell laptop XPS M1330; please any help out there?

    I think we need more information.

    How is it killing HDDs?

    What are you using it for?

    Which drives are you using?

    What o/s is it?

    When did you last run a full virus & malware scan?

      Have the same problem with Compaq n610, it killed me 3 hdd. Problem was in charger connector it was shaky and laptop often if battery is low shuts down. I replaced connector on motherboard and problem stopped. Before i replace it i used laptop only on battery not while it is charging. I hope this will help you.

        The O/S is Vista and its just used for basic stuff in house; checking mails and basic internet stuff.

        I couldn't understand why?

          when the laptop is power up the message on the screen is that there is no HHD detected

            the HHD is 2.5 SATA; 160gb.

              If u have dvd rom u can download ubuntu and run live version from dvd it can work without hdd and you can use it for basic stuff.
