HP Keyboard volume control stopped

Hello,
Need assistance to fix my HP Pavillion m7091.uk.
Made the mistake of updating the sound drivers with
a driver update program. Now the volume control on
the keyboard has stopped working, and the on screen volume bar graphic don't appear. I have updated the Creative sound blaster software and the HP sound driver again, no good.
I have also backed up the sound and keyboard drivers
from a different partition, multi boot, and restored them to
the none working. no good.
Any help appreciated.

have you tried system restore to the date before you updated the drivers?

I don't have that running, and i have too much to restore if i reinstall.
I think its only something simple so i don't want to crash the machine and have to do a full install.

system restore does not erase your personal files and data. all it erases is programs/drivers which you installed after the restore date

You can go to device manager and roll back the drivers.

Have you traied to reinstall HP Quick Launch Buttons?

I don't use the MS backup system because when i need to retore to a previous point, it don't work so i gave up using it.
Tried rolling back to a previous driver but does not restore the volume control. The keyboard quick launch buttons work Ok, and i have updated the HP driver to the latest, just in case. I think there may be an addon for the volume and on screen display, but cannot find the one for my m7091.uk.
