well most of you know im building a media pc, one of the problems im getting is that the pc only sees the plasma tv as a crt in the options, now its not a problem as i can use it as a pc normally but when it comes to opening the slingbox it wont let me optimise it for the best pic, so the picture isnt the best, watchable to me but to stream its a bag of spanners , for use as a movie watcher it would be fine but i want to get my options back open for the sling.

its got on board graphics and i think im right in saying that if i buy a graphics card it may solve the problem?


ive a 37 inch lcd upstairs and i never had the problem on that tv but with the 42 inch plasma in the display options is shows as crt and sling says advance optimisation has been switched off.

am i overlooking something here?

thats the mb above, not the best in the world but not the worst but it saved me going out to buy one.
p4 pentium dual core processor, 2gig ram, soundblaster sound card.

and has anyone got a cheap graphics card to fit this.. i dont want ground breaking performance or cost for a pc that wont get used for gaming ect...

streaming and watching movies will be as far as this one goes.

I might have an old graphics card at my parents house, I'll check tomorrow and if it's still there you can have it. It's probably a good 3/4 years old though. I'll let you know.

cheers if it,ll fit it will be great, doesnt need to be anything new or good, just something better than the onboard so if you can it would be great.


if you can find it dont worry too much i,ll just try and find a used one on fleabay that'll fit.





just looked on the board and its an agp slot, the website says its pci x1 but the slot looks and says agp.

mines rev 2 so they may have changed from rev 1 on these motherboards or vice versa.

thanks again for the offer but i managed to find one on ebay last night with my insomnia keeping me up .


radeon 850x pro vivo agp card, prob more than i need but it wasnt a bad price i suppose.

and if ive done my homework right it should connect direct to usteam with out the need of any software like webcam max ect....
