that is part from "Take a tour of XP" one of the options "Windows XP Basic" it has nothing to do with audio driver.

as varmab said, you should tell us what brand/model is it

ok the driver would be Realtek ALC880 Audio. you can download it from Downloads - Support - Fujitsu, input the model m1451g and all the drivers would appear.

          Hope that helps

It sound like a driver isue. What laptop have you got and i'll see if I can locate the right drivers for it.

Is there no sound on the laptop at all. If you have sond but none wnyou plug a jacks plug into the sound card have a look in the bios. Do this by pressing delete or F8 on bootup depending on the laptop manufacture. In the bios you soould beable to oacte the sound card settings. If it's set to hd change it to ac97

I had the same problem when I had to do a clean install on mother in laws pc. Got round it by downloading K LITE AUDIO PACK can't find the program at the minute to upload but just google it. It's a free download anyway.

                            pro_seg5.swf

the only things i can think of is that error is the cause

could be that it never copied from the disc due to bad disc or drive also check ram to be sure
because it uses the ram on the file part of the disc.

if its a custom made disc you installed with sp2/sp3 id recommend a proper install.
before that try to use the system file checker to see if you can install the missing files.

goto run or cmd and type sfc /scannow you will need your disc for this part then let it check for missing files.

tried another clean format and install...this time XP pro but still the same file prob (pro_seg5.swf) and no sound...when I go to play music it gives me this...

                              ''There is no sound card

You either do not have a sound card installed on your computer or it is not functioning properly. If you do not have a sound card installed, you must install one before you can listen to audio in a digital media file. If you do have a sound card installed, refer to its documentation to troubleshoot the problem.
