Hi, seems like the fan cooler is not working properly, try loading the bios and watch the processor temperature. may be you will need to replace the fan.

may be a virus, may be a driver conflict, it may be hardware going down,
does it blue screen before it goes off?
does it do the same thing in safe mode?
have you tried any spy-ware / malware / virus scan's?
has he recently updated any drivers on it?

might be best to get it opened and clean the fan out. you'l be surprised how much dust gathers there

thanks all for advice realised now must be a faulty temp sensor on board or something as i can control the fan manually via windows with an app
