    Connecting pc to tv

I've tried to connect my pc to my tv, both laptop and tv are samsung. Whenever i connect VGA cable not only does the ps screen not show up but the tv also switches itself off. I've the pc linked up in the past so i can't figure out why this is happening. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance for replies.

you have to set your laptop to give you multiple displays, in the control panel you should have a icon for changing display output where you can clone your desktop to the second display.

make sure graphics card has updated drivers aswell, always helps for screen Resolution issues

It depends on your graphics processor some can only display on one or the other.
Shutdown laptop and tv connect vga cable turn on tv and laptop if this doesnt work try pressing function key and f6 or f5 can't remember which one to switch display once windows has booted and obviously select source on tv as pc.
if it does support multiple display select clone on both displays until you've got a picture on your tv.

To change the screen use Fn key with F6 on most laptops, could be with F5 on some.
