Browser wont connect

Hi Guys, have a problem where IE 6 (WIN XP HOME SP3) wont connect, although email works ok. Tried installing ie 7 and 8 but install error comes up on both. Also tried the winsock reset from the cmd thingy, still no go. Installed firefox and that wont work either. Other pc's works ok with ie 6 and 8.so I assume router is ok . Anyone got any ideas please?

try this

under internet explorer go to TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS then clicked on the connections tab. from here I clicked on LAN SETTINGS under LOCAL AREA NETWORK(LAN)SETTINGS from here you want to make sure "automatic configuration" has the AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS checked and all others unchecked. hit ok

maybe you can check the port number (80 or 8080), try change it...
