    bios password reset

    Hi !
How I do reset password bios for one laptop Toshiba NB100 ?
I removed battery without any positive effect. I cannot boot from any device because ask for password.

Look for a utils disk called Hirens which contains many useful utils on it. There are a few bios pw changers on it. Boot from the disk then select pw changers from the menus. You can then delete the current password then should be able to reboot as normal.

try to enter 3 times a wrong password and you should see a 5 digit System Disabled Code.

post it here if you can see that

            Hi !
NO 5 digit System Disabled Code.
After 3 bad entry codes, the notebook power off.

I remember doing one of these for a mate many years ago. You just have to knock up a simple parallel dongle from a parallel connecter. You solder some wires to it and short certain pins. I think this is correct:

              Parallel port loopback
It's a simple device that you connect to your parallell port. A lot of Toshiba computers remove the password when you boot it up. The device could be made out of any parallell wire with 25pins connectors (db25).

              You should connect these pins:
              1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, 18-25
              Attached Files

I already mentioned hirens to him but from cd. I dont think somehow that this machine has the capability of usb booting especially so as it wont even boot from cd. You would be suprised just how many machines there are still out there including desktops that dont have the usb boot feature.

Leave the BIOS battery out for 15 minutes

                    Hello,

Depending on the model ect, Open to laptop up and remove the CMOS battery for 15 minutes, If not hold the power button down for 30 seconds, make sure you remove the actualy mains power and laptop battery.

Removing the CMOS battery won't work on a Toshiba. Your answer is above in japseye;846970's post.

Hi, sorry to revive this post but I found this searching for a solution to the same problem. Toshiba NB100 does not have a paralel port. So, this solution does not work with this notebook is there any other?

                        thx
