First try installing avast and if it does not work describe how the virus appears. Recently I had a few comps that was infected by some virus which is looking like antivirus program. Maybe you have the same.

Try and download Microsoft Security Essentials and save it befor e you run it.
Then turn off internet connection and if you have any protection on their run it when it asks you for security tools run your download

Windows Vista is similar to Windows XP for starting in Safe Mode.

              * Turn the computer on or Restart the computer
              * Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
              * Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected (the top option)
              * Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
              * When you are finished with troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

              Windows XP

The above guys advises are correct and you know it your self.

The pop ups will keep coming again and again because the virus protection you were using is the free download one or patched one. Your internet IP has been target it for some reason or other and most of the time is from bad sites.

The only way to get them of your back is to do factory setting by using embedded recovery from DATA partition or recovery discs if you have any. and don't connect to the internet unless you have a full anti virus protection that you can buy for the price of 4 pint of lager in some pubs M8.

                    Take care. Salami.

i downloaded this, and when run it only run in safe mode, worked well and cleared lots of shite from my lappy, but if you dont uncheck,,,,run at startup, in the options while your still in safe mode, when you reboot itll keep rebooting ,this is my experience...so the earlier post stating pc keeps going off COULD THAT BE WHY?Originally Posted by kevob215
