hi can anybody help my friend has got a compaq cq61-3245a laptop running on windows 7 it keeps on logging off on her wireless router can you change the wireless card for one out of an old compaq laptop .

Option1:
delete the driver for the device reboot tehcomputer and re-istall again.

Option 2:
1) Click on "START"
2) right mouse click on "Computer"
3) go to the bottom of the opened little window and click on "Properties"
4) On the top left of the opened window click on "DeviceManager" a window will open and look for "Network adapters" click on it. If there is any "?" yellow question mark.

Now of course you can't update the driver for it from here because you can't connect to the Internet.
What you have to do use a second computer that is connected to the Internet (i.e) one of your friends computer or if you have another one in the house go to the computer make website look Model or make of the computer and go to "downloads drivers page download "Wlan driver" and save it in a CD or flash Memory stick.

Repeat the above procedure and this time click on the "?" and click "Update driver and direct it to where the "Wlan"diver is or let it search in the computer. once find it will be installed.

Now go Wireless connection and set it up , it may ask for security Code type it in the box and that you connected.
