    Acer 5920

    after a spillage on keyboard my acer wont hold a charge. After drying out keyboard i now find keyboard loses battery power at a rate of approx 25% >15 mins. Any advice on repair pls

    If it is more than a few days then it will be knackered, if not then it needs pulling apart, washing in alcohol and cleaning. If you are in time then this will probably be all you need to do.

      thaks for reply. however after cleaning and drying the keyboard is fine, my problem is with laptop discharching when not pluged in...any advic on this issue ?

        i think your battery pack is already weak....try to find a new or secondhand battery pack that suit to the type of your acer.

          I meant the laptop needs pulling apart not the keyboard. When things are spilled on the keyboard they go through it so the whole laptop needs dismantling and cleaning. It's probably too late now.

            once again thanks for reply. however after taking apart and cleaning laptop problem still persists. is there any repair i can undertake to return my laptop to a state whereby it hold its charge.i am pretty sure the battery pack is ok as i removed it straight away

              I am not so sure if the liquid spillage on keyboard would affect your battery functionality because the keyboard is firmly rubber tight, it may affect the buttons if liquid contains sugar such coffee,tea or soft drinks, it may be your battery is about to pack it up M8 by the sound of it.

                i tried a battery from my mates acer..it does not hold charch either...seems that batterys ar not charching...any fix?
