having read your other post and tried the solution using windows recovery with no success then alternatives would be to remove the hd and put it into another pc and then remove files you want to keep before returning it then format and reinstall or replace it with a new hd and reinstall windows then use your existing hd as a slave drive and remove files then format it and use it for storage.

sounds like you have a corrupt registry and the os is unable to read the files or directories.

you will need recovery console for this
scroll down to the manual part it will guide you.
if you have an oem Operating System dont use this

How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting

depending on what there is on the computer information of importance sometimes it easier to
start again but if therestuff on there needs backing just remove it put into another pc copy
it like dasteph said or recover it then copy it then reinstall os.

hope it goes well for you
