Resuming usb file transfer

Hey guys,

I am in the process of transfering 1tb of data from one usb hard drive to another,however I am at work and need to take my laptop home.
If I put my laptop to sleep,go home and reconnect hard drives in same ports then wake it up,will it resume the transfer or will it mess up?

Can confirm that putting laptop to sleep worked.
Just reconected everything when I got home and it carried on.
