at a guess, your processor may have an auto-clockdown feature try this...

CONTROL PANEL > POWER OPTIONS > -- Select balanced (recommended)

or select CREATE A POWER PLAN from the side panel and select HIGH PERFORMANCE and go through the motions of creating a new power plan.

if you are already on a balanced or high performance plan then it could be underclocking due to overheating.

access your bios and reset the default settings. while in the bios, check the cpu temperature. if it is too high then it will automatically run slow.
if its overheating, then clean it out. check your fan is running at optimum rpm. if its slowed then its not doing its job properly.
also, while in bios, go into advanced bios features and disable C1E and EIST

you sure? it should be there, maybe labelled as speedstep or something. list me everything in your advanced bios.

you have a 64bit processor. are you running a 64bit OS?

...oh and feel free to click the scales under my profile pic as a way of thanks

Have you checked/done any bios updates?

Also as the bios posts first of, what does the CPU NAME AND CLOCK SPEED SAY?

Also what was the program you used to get the information

Also try downloading CPU Z Did you clean out your heat sink on the CPU

how odd, your EIST should be sat there right below THERMAL MONITOR.
try pressing CTRL + F1 as soon as you enter advanced bios, see if that unlocks that which should already be there

So the info is from CPU Z?

Have a look on here to test the CPU

I see that you have a gigabyte MB have you got giga tune/overdrive tuning soft installed? Or something like that. this program will run in a back ground and if settings have been changed there. it will re set bios settings to whatever has been preset in that program and under clock your CPU. Open tuning soft and set it to default settings see if that works.
