    MESSENGER BOGGLE

Righto, my DK brethren. A friend of mine is having trouble logging into messenger on her laptop and is faced with the error code 80040154. The stock answer on my trips around google is to reregister msxml3.dll in the command prompt but although it successfully reregisters, it does not fix the problem.
I suggested to simply unistall all windows live associated items on the laptop, run a registry cleaner and reinstall completely but windows live essentials is not on the list of programs to be uninstalled, although, all windows live programs, apart from messenger is on the all programs list from the start menu.
Obviously, messenger must be installed on the computer because she is able to attempt to log in to it, but the program simply can't be traced to be uninstalled/repaired.

Tell me now, tell me true, what is this poor fool to do?

A correct answer will earn you a thanks and a scale click. isn't that what life's all about?

    You tried reinstalling msxml3.msi?

Download details: Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 7 (SP7)
