    Laptop infected !!

    Hi all
The grandaughter ( 19 ) has been on the laptop and has somehow let something onto the lap top , as a result boxes appear on screen when you try and move on , stating Application infected do you want to activate antivirus software , and with that ANTIVIRUS.NET page pops up and will not let you proceed.
cant accsses the internet or any of my antispyware i.e Malware bytes etc to get rid of it . When i try to go online it says Application cannot be executed , internet exp warning visiting this web site may harm your computer so therefore cannot get online.it wont let me use any of the help available on laptop as when you try to accsses these it also comes up with application infected. The laptop is operating on the microsoft windows vista.
If anyone can help could you please give me a step by step guide , if available on where do i go from here .

    many thanks in anticipation.

Not sure if this will help but if you can get into safe mode ok to run vista, try a system restore in safe mode to an earlier time than the virus.Mate had a nasty little virus on his and this worked when I tried it.Maybe worth a go

maybe it is not a virus so will not detect it
