How do I restore my laptop to new state?

I have an Amilo Li1705 laptop which has had major sticking problems for the last year but many are the fault of Virgins bad connection. I am now moving to Sky in 2 weeks but want to strip everything off the laptop and restart it to factory settings so it will go back to its original speed.

Can someone please tell me what is the best (and not too complicated) way to do this. I am running Vista on it if it helps, its only 40 gb harddrive, looking for secondhand better one but nothing available (xmas!) in my pocket yet.

    Thanks

grab a copy of xp pro.. vista is shite.
do a fresh install, backing up anything you want to keep.
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

on most new or newish laptops there is a recovery partition which will take the pc back to its factory settings which you access at the initial boot screen by pressing a particular key, you will have to watch the screen when the pc boots to find which key.

try the following keys ALT F10 / ALT F12
