A slight disadvantage is that you have to buy compatable lightscribe DVD+R if you wish to use the image burning function which are usually slightly more expensive than normal DVD media. However, if your not buying large amounts of blank lightscribe DVD media then the extra cost wouldn't be that significant
Also, the images can only be burned onto the disc in black & white and can take a little while to do so (~10-15 minutes)Last edited by JT86; 11 April, 2008, 01:27. -
Thank you for the replies and the link Biffo.
I was thinking more in terms of the hardware really; would the burner be any less reliable because of built in lightscribe capabilities - eg., more things to go wrong? To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.

no they are exactly the same i have had 3internal + 1 external dvd burner and the lightscribe was the cheapest and the best 1 of the lot. also the buffer on the lightscribe drives seem to cope better imo!
the drive im currently using is here "http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ASU-20XLSI" and you will have no problems with burning i have had less disk errors with this drive than any of the others.Last edited by leaj; 11 April, 2008, 12:59.Comment
