    DVD/CD problem Driver? IDE?

Hi was wondering if anyone can suggest to fix or point me in the right way, Problem is that my PC is no longer seeing my DVD burner, doesn't see in the bios nor in windows 7, I HAVE TRIED 3 DIFFERENT dvd/CD writers but still doesn't show up in the bios, also when i do connect the CD the pc doesn't see my other HD these are both connected by IDE cable, Main HD is on sata, checked all jumpers seems right, anti-virus ran but issues there, was thinkin of a reformat but everything runs ok and it wont read the cd anyhow, i have also ran IMGBurn to create a virtual drive and try to force it to see the CD but still no luck, thxs if you can point me in the right direction

it's either your IDE cable has a problem ... or you have disabled in BIOS IDE1 or IDE2. The worst case scenario is a HW failure of your motherboard

sounds like a software prob. trying a reinstall at startup might problem solve. just plug in 1 HD and the CD drive. have u tried clearing the cmos? could be a number of things. make sure uve not turned ide off in ur bios. or try a system restore to when it worked.

are your hd and dvd on the same ide cable or seperate cables, reading your post i get the impression that they are on the same cable.
