    pack ard bell laptop problem

I have a problem with a Packard Bell Laptop which is just out of warranty. Model number MS2274

When you turn it on there is a fan noise for about a second then nothing, doesn't try to boot. The power light stays on and will not switch off untill the battery is removed.

Anyone come accross a simular problem?

    Thanks

I would do what the above person says and try unplugging the battery and turning the power on if that does not work try unplugging the memory and reseating it.

If that fails then you would need to do further tests if u want to buy a battery I own a pc shop i can sell you one hehe or ram or what ever you need :P

        Hi,
        thanks chaps.
No joy with the battery removal.

I removed the memory (2) of them and replaced them 1 at a time then put both back, still no joy.

I will removethe bottom an see if I can anything, like coca cola, as its been used by kids.
Will report back, mean while any more suggestions?

        Thanks

My sisters Compaq presario F500 had that exact same problem.. fan noise then nothing..loops over and over until turned off

Turns out it's a well known problem with them laptops were the GPU burns out.and won't engage in bootup.

Hers has a geforce 6150 go and it can be fixed just like the xbox 360's, by heatgunning it or throwing it into the oven for awhile... do you know the gpu in the laptop by any chance?
