PROBLEM WITH NORTON 2009

i installed norton anti virus 2009 on my windows XP yesterday the original full version , the problem i have everytime i put my PC on it takes well over 6 minutes to set up propally it has slowed down my pc and i dont know why i know its got to be something to do with Norton because before i installe it onto my pc when i started my pc up it was fine use to set up quicker also i should mention wether it would make a difference or not is that im using Norton on another pc in another room through a wired router but i was thinking of swapping the pc s around in the rooms and not having this one going through a router would that help.

Remove norton from your pc, it uses way to much resources and just kills the pc.

Stick Avast or similar on, its free and way faster. Dont be fooled into thinking you need to pay forbig company software.

what would help is uninstalling norton av and installing avast.

i had terrible problems with norton slowing down my pc....


i now just use avast, makes a hell of diffrrence speed wise.

i was told to use a removal tool to remove it.
apperantly just uninstalling it doesn't fully get rid of it.

i think this is the site i used.... (was a long time ago and memory is not what it once was )

is Avast good one then and it dosent slow your pc down ? because i want a good virus protection that does its job wether its free or not because i was using Micosoft essential before but i was still get virus coming through .

yep avast seems to be the most popular,
you wont even notice its running unless it detects summit or is updating....
