plainly and simply. find a friend who knows a bit more about computers, and let him have a look. And it doesnt need much knowledge.
I am not knocking you, we all have varying degrees of skill in computers, and you'd be best letting someone who has more of a clue mate...
I havent read all 6 pages, but if the virus scan in safe don't remove it, then a format and re-install will.
And NEVER click things that say they will cure it... unless you know it is YOUR virus program that is asking.
Before you format, there are system restore points as well. If it is set up.
Format will get rid of everything!.. you know that? Everything! so beware.
Oh, as the man says on your other thread, there could be recovery programs that restore it to day dot or a point before the virus appeared. I know on my samsung there is.
two ways with mine... find the program in E drive on mine, and run it.
or when you boot up, look for the prompts, but you have to be quick... it can be F2,F8,F11,F12 DEL or a number of things... watch on boot up.
Best of luck mateLast edited by xant14; 28 February, 2011, 00:44.Comment

Does the computer stop you from opening the internet browser and start running a phony mailware program. if so try run this program it should stop those things from running then run antispyware and virus software. should get rid of it all.Attached FilesComment

from what i'm being told now in another post i'm 99% likely to still have the virus and the only sure way to get rid of it is to get a windows 7 disc and format the laptop.Comment

Once you use rkill you need to use a spyware remover like super anti spyware remover then use an anti virus remover. Should do the trick. If the problem is only a False antispyware program that keeps running then it should work. I have seen some infected where it would not let you open your internet browser to use the internet but it should still do the trick. I would try but when when problems do arise i never waste alot of time trying to fix problems like these and i bite the bullet and reformat. If you are going to lose info cause of this problem take it as a lesson and use a back up drive.Comment

i did get the laptop back to factory re-set and seems fine i posted a question looking for advice on which anti-virus i should use and thats when i was told the only sure way to get rid of the virus is to get a windows 7 disc. i have mcafee anti-virus and malwarebytes currently installed and have run full scans in both and both found nothing.
so the only question is could i still have the virus.Comment

don't worry steve the virus will be gone. because malware bytes picks said virus/malware up every time but cannot remove it.I presume you wiped or formatted your hard drive which if so, has deffo removed it, i say this because i have come across and cleared this malware by cleaning the hard drive.Comment
