Netbook Wont turn on

Hello everyone looking for a bit of help from someone.

My son has a Samsung Netbook and this morning when he went to switch it on he just heard the thing making beep beep noises and nothing happens, He has assured me that he hasn't loaded anything onto it or downloaded anything either.

I had a quick look at it and the lights come on when you power it up, it then beeps six times, the lights stay on but it does not boot up, anybody have any ideas if it can be fixed or is it worth fixing.

It runs windows xp if that matters, he has told me that nothing on it is worth saving, so if it has to be wiped it is not a big deal, Thanks for any help.

Sound like the memory module. They are located underneath the notebook. If theres 2 modules then remove 1 at a time and check. If theres only 1 then thats probably the problem.

Thanks for the reply cgscott but TBH I haven't got a clue what that means, are they actually inside the computer and if as you say there is only one module what can be done, thanks again for the reply.

Hold on I have just picked up his netbook to have a look and I went to power it on and it has come back on, so Thanks for the help but not needed now, if it goes again I will post back
