Blackberry 9800 bold sim recognition problem

I've got a blackberry 9800 bold, I just bought the phone, I put in t-mobile, vodafone and tesco mobile and phone will not recognise any sim. the phone says 'insert sim card'.

the after taking out sim cards, the sim looks scratch, dont know wether the pins are damaged or there's something wrong with the phone. The phone is unlocked, if were to not accept sim then surely it would say that but it is not even saying that.

please can someone help me???

It soulds like the SIM reader has some bent pins. Just had a quick look on ebay, most Blackberrys can have the reader changed reasonably easy... but I can't find one for the 9800.

There is a mobile repair centre advertising the repair, but it will cost you ?35 if you have to mail it to them.

They seem to carry some stock for the 9800, but not the SIM Reader. Could be worth keeping an eye on them.
