how do i get on the gps navagation on a sony erricson w955 phone got on the bit where it says location services.theres meant to b a gps sign but theres nought cheers.

GPS is usually turned on automatically when a program starts up that needs it.
Not played with a W955 (it's a bit below me
), but some phones don't actually show an on-screen icon. It may just flash an LED to show activation.
But this is Assisted GPS, so it may not have any true GPS hardware. A-GPS usually means the phones position is triangulated using the mobile network & not satellites. These systems don't show any icons or flashing LEDs.
Just read your post again... Location based services isn't GPS... it's linked to your web browser so searches of things like food outlets are prioritised by distance from your estimated location.
