Can I get some real reviews for the galaxy s please. I am considering getting one and know the camera isn't supposed to be great but how does it fair in the real world along with the rest of the phone. I know the s2 has been released but is still a bit out of my price range. Thanks

You say runs poorly on stock roms does that mean I would need to root it to get the best out of it or can it be improved without rooting.....How difficult is rooting and will it brick the unit if I don't read up......Can it be unrooted without trace if it needs to be fixed under manufacturer warrantyBetter than anything else I have seen to date.

I would recommend rooting any phone, there is no real benefit to not rooting it other than warranty issues. Rooting with this phone is a one click app so cant really get any easier. There are no risks using the appropriate applications, there are risks using older methods. There are temporary root options available. You say runs poorly on stock roms does that mean I would need to root it to get the best out of it or can it be improved without rooting.....How difficult is rooting and will it brick the unit if I don't read up......Can it be unrooted without trace if it needs to be fixed under manufacturer warranty
When flashing custom roms there are always risks involved but there are plenty who will be willing to assist.
Hope this helps."What we've got here is failure to communicate."Comment

Thanks I'm very nooby to this but would like to think I can just about follow instructions. I have comfortably managed wii softmod and am happy to play around inside a pc tower without ~~~~in things up too bad. Couple of questions though If the handset is rooted can this be picked up by service provider monitoring use on internet or do we just block the service provider from monitoring without them shouting that we have breached contract. As you can probably tell i don't trust the company's that supposedly provide a "service" that we pay for and when we use it to it's full potential they complain that we are abusing the system reducing the service for other......Well I say if the others can't be bothered to spend some time researching the product they have bought and what it is capable off then why the ~~~~ should we bother if their web pages load a millisecond slower they are to lazy or niave to notice the difference anyway. Can I just add that I have seen the one click root app which also does the one click unroot but as this is my first dabble into android I wasn't very sure just how much is real and how much is nonsenseI would recommend rooting any phone, there is no real benefit to not rooting it other than warranty issues. Rooting does nothing other than unlocking the phones hidden options. Operators have no real concern about its presence, they cover themselves in case you screw up your phone."What we've got here is failure to communicate."Comment

Nothing an insurance policy covering loss wouldn't sort out then until I get it sussed and am more familiar with the process. On haveing read some more on custom roms it sounds very similar to overclocking and does it come with the same overheating issues or does that factor not come into it as constant prolonged use isn't really going to happen.Comment

Custom roms are the OS for your phone, like windows for your computer.Nothing an insurance policy covering loss wouldn't sort out then until I get it sussed and am more familiar with the process. Overclocking is unlocking the processors full potential without damaging the unit. When oveclocking heat will always be an issue. How much of an issue depends on various factors.
"Smart" profiles allow you to use the full potential of your phone when needed, then conserve energy when you don't."What we've got here is failure to communicate."Comment
