    Sony Ericsson Factory Reset?

Right then you lot, looky here....
I've got myself one of them Sony ericsson W995 things so I have.
It's old and long overdue being replaced but it's been good to me up until now.
The screen goes all funny whenever I try to access the menu and I can't see buggery.
My initial thought was that the screen was dying on me but when I turn it on, all the start up screens appear without a problem.
Then a possibilty occurred to me that the phone memory may be clogged up. Lordy knows that there's a years worth of text messages on it.
So I came to the conclusion that I will attempt a factory reset.
Problem is that I can't access the menu to locae the reset option.
I've done a bit of Google-goggling and came across a solution involving connecting my phone to the SE PC Suite software in order to reset the phone.
However, I cannot connect the phone to the PC as the charging port is buggered and completely useless and I hate it and it smells and I'm telling my dad.
Anyway, what I require is a method of resetting without PC Suite, perhaps the key sequence I need to key in in order to access the reset option in the menu or, perhaps, a reset code.

Without the USB port you're out on a limb...

You can do a basic reset but only through the menu...

Red, the gods must like you. Just had a customer in with the W995.

With the phone turned on do the following

      MENU - DOWN - DOWN - RIGHT - SELECT

You are now in the settings menu.

      SELECT - UP - SELECT - DOWN - SELECT - SELECT

Your phone will now factory reset (as long as your network didn't move icons & menu's around)
