    Is it possible to remove carrier branding on a Blackberry Bold 9700? Sick of the T-Mobile boot up screen

      Removing the Vendor file does work. Jim's link is very easy to follow.

      The high-tech door wedge is only going to happen if the computer crashes while installing the software on the phone. Or you're stupid enough to unplug the phone while it's installing.

      The computer crashing while the firmware is downloading from RIM isn't going to brick the phone.

      I guess what I'm saying is, if your computer likes to crash now & again...use a different computer to debrand your phone.
