blackberry 8520 wont turn on + red light does not come on

Picked up a 8520 which does not boot. The red light will not appear and i have tried mutiple batteries. I have also searched numerous times online to no avail. Is there even a way to repair this fault? it appears far too common for a phone which costs quite abit new even to this day-
    thanks

    Not a good start.

I'm hoping you have enough mental capacity to be able to take it apart. There are videos on youtube if you're not sure.

Look for any sign of water damage or any charred or missing componants.

If you find residue from water damage, clean it with IPA. Anything black or just missing... it's ~~~~ed.

Another thing to try is plugging it into a PC that has the blackberry desktop manager installed. With luck it might get picked up & allow you to update the firmware. Blackberry are pretty good with this, but I would expect the red light to come on for this to work.
