    blackberry 8520 wifi

Hope someone outthere can help me . my wife got a a blackberry curve 8520 unlocked and put her o2 sim in (monthly contract ?10 text and calls ) , i wnted to connect through the wifi so she can go on the internet through my home router for free . i set up the wifi connection ( made sure the router key was ok ) . the front screen of the phone says o2 - my wireless connection , but the wifi symbol is in grey not white ( as i believe it should be in white , i am worried that when you go on internet she will be charged ) . Under manage connections>wifi options it says my connection is active although there is a white line next to the connection. Have i done something wrong please help , steve.

Try turning the GSM radio off so you get no cellular network and try again!

when her contract is up you should look into GiffGaff who run on the o2 network they have just done there blackberry bb activation and for pricewise you will have to go far to beat them.

they are recommended in numerous threads on dk due to the unlimted internet etc
