hi all im thinking of buying a faulty blackberry 8900 which doesnt charge apparently it charges when connected via usb but doesnt charge when connected to the mains.
In the ideal world that would mean the charger is ~~~~ed.
But I doubt it will be that easy.
Worst case is a buggered charge port, not uncommon in blackberrys, an external charger & second battery will have it working.... if you can live with having to change the battery every day.

thats what i was thinking cause if it charges on usb fine i wouldnt thought it was a buggered charge port.
It can still happen. USB cables are usually a little more substantial than the chargers. It's possible that the USB cable manages to keep the port legs in contact with the board, where the charger connector is pants & just causes more damage.
But on the other hand, the seller could be a moron.

if you want to get a cheap blackberry then just buy one with a white screen and put new one in or a fualty keypad it defo looks like the charger is at fault as the usb uses same pin out for usb and mains no difference same voltage so its the charger
