Hey Jim, battery came today, so i put it in the phone and managed to get the "download" menu to come on and stay on, flashed it with a firmware that you pointed me towards and hey presto the phone came on and kinda works. I say kinda becasue no matter what sim card i put in the phone it says "SP LOCK" and wants me to type some kind of code into the keypad. Any ideas on this new problem ? Ive read loads of tuts but nothing seems to work. Getting alot closer though and now the phone charges up thru usb, yayyyy. Thanks Jim, as usual your input would be of great help

You need to take it to a shop. NSPro can read the codes for you.

Oh, ok. I was hoping to unlock it with either a firmware flash or by using a code that i enter using the keypad. Is that the only way then ? Thanks, Paul.,

          It's still network locked!

Changing the firmware doesn't wipe out the network lock and sadly, there are no cheats or work-arounds to clear the lock on newer Samsungs.

Using the SRS service will get you the code, you can use the cable method or go for IMEI to code service... I can do here but your flight might cost more than the unlock cost!!

Hmmm, ok, erm, now im thinking. Am i right in thinking that my phone can be unlocked when connected to a pc using my usb cable and the right software...... If so, can you remote access my pc in order to unlock the phone. The guy down the road wants ?30 to unlock this phone, which i will probably only use a few times, and i can go on ebay and buy a second hand phone for about ?12, i just hate being beaten, . Even though you have done all the hard work for me. Any idea's Jim (teamviewer is what i use when im fixing someones pc for them remotely)

Most commercial tools will block USB use over a network... These boxes, like NSPro for example are expensive and the manufacturers want to keep people buying them!

That said, ?30 is a rip-off to say the least. ?10 - ?15 is the going rate as they are not rocket science to do!

              Try here: http://www.unlocksamsungonline.eu/unlocksamsung/

Via USB cable its 14.95 Euro (about ?12.16) and they accept PayPal. I used them a few times before I got my NSPro Box.
