    Blackberry 9930

Hi I have a 9930 blackberry that won't boot. It either does a continuous loop, restarting over and over when it gets to about 75-80% complete or just hangs there.

Desktop manager can identify it, but can't access it, I have tried reloading the OS both with desktop manager and with app loader to no success. I have tried BBSAK (blackberry swiss army knife) but no luck. app loader can connect to it up on to the point where it hangs.

Any one with an idea what I can do?

Try it again with the battery out and only pop the battery in when it needs to reboot...

Done that already but still getting the same result.

Actually, I even pulled the battery and put it back in time for loader go trap it and finish the OS installation with the message that it was a success, but the phone still won't boot. It still hangs at about the 75% (see attached pix) mark and would stay there, no error, no nothing untill the battery runs out.

I am totally stumped! Any one with any usefull info?

This can't be over 12 months old, so I'd take it back under guarantee if I were you...

Actually, it is over 12months so I am no longer covered under warranty, plus I had the phone unlocked, so a carrier return is out of the question.

I really need help with this. What could the issue possibly be? Is it a hardware problem?

It sounds like a flash chip problems...

You could use BBSAK to erase the phone. Ensure that you download the correct firmware from the BlackBerry website for the handset & carrier and install, then reflash...

Hi, tried that already, but BBSAK also keeps losing connection with the phone.

Actually did that, and it was the same thing, but I sorted it out now, its been fixed. I just used bb device manager to monitor when the phone is connected and then used bbsak to do factory reset, which then stopped the endless reboot loop and afforded bbsak to gain permanent access to the phone.

                  Thanks.
