I have an unlocked BB Pearl 8100 but cannot access internet

I have recently unlocked an old Blackberry Pearl 8100 and installed a Virgin Media sim. When I turn the phone on it briefly shows virgin network then Data connection refused. As a result I cannot access the internet. I have put card into an old Samsung and no problems there. I have phoned Virgin and they could not help.

Can anyone help a complete novice at this.

Was it working before unlock attempt ? if it has unlock method could cripple radio firmware.

Could it be radio firmware related. Look for your Pearl 8100 radio version and see if others have the same trouble as you are or if there is an updated firmware.

go to advanced options then go to tcp then
then APN gotovirginmobile.uk
username user
password (leave blank)
have same phone on virgin

BB Pearl 8100 no access to internet

Tried thye TCP without any joy, when attempting to enter browser message reads "device does not currently have any browser configuration services book entries" and to contact service provider to enable service. Tried Virgin without any joy.

Looked at firmware upgrade to V4.5 but read lot of bad press re this.

Any other ideas...........

sorry forgot to mention you can omly access the internet via opera as blackberry browser will not connect
