N97 Locks up @ power up

Hi Everybody,
Having a really really bad time with my Nokia soon to be a brick 97 handset.
It is a uk generic model and is being used on the o2 network, have the latest firmware version and have recently performed a hard reset as things had went pete tong. I am unable to re install v12 firmware as it has been pulled from the server.
Since this reset I am now back using my N95 8Gb handset. I am not managing to get any help from the usual ports of call, so does anybody have any suggestions?

I have already thought of standing on it, throwing it out the window,etc.

As Nokia gives a two year warranty, Find your local Nokia main dealer and get them to either fix it or replace it.
