bluetooth problems

i have a motorola dext phone but i cant send any bluetooth files.. i can turn on the bluetooth but nothing works..

Will it pair up to other devices? i.e handsfree headset or another phone.

it pairs with other phones once i put a passcode in. but under the name its paird with it says "paired but not connected"...
also when another phone tries to send a photo it keeps on searching but then says no device found, but the phone has already paired???

A stupid question, but is the phone set to visible?

Have you looked at updating the firmware? Not sure which software it runs on. You could try looking at.... forget that I've just checked. It's on Android.

Try giving Lusephur a shout, there's not much he doesn't know when it comes to Android.

As far as your problem goes, it sounds like either a software glitch or a designed limitation.

I don't know the DEXT but I'm told there is an APP in Google Marketplace if you can receive but you can't send from the phone.

You can also send the file to the other device through bluetooth with the help of applications which are easily available on the internet. Or else you can go to the market place which is on your phone and then try to search for "Bluetooth File Transfer" application. Once you get it download it and install it on your phone which can help you to send and receive any of the file without any of the problem.

yes the phone is discoverable..

and yes i have downloaded the bluetooth file transfer app, don't no how it works, but i don't work anyway...

I'll try an update, if that don't work, will have to take it to shop.

I had a quick read up last night, the only checks on bluetooth on the Dext were to headsets. I hate to say ti but it might be a designed limitation, 'if the Iphone doesn't do why should we?' kind of thinking.

We did have someone in the shop with a Dext, he did mention something about the bluetooth. But it had a smashed screen which was taking most of my mental focus. Does it give any details in the manual on file transfers?

I remember the old motorola phones had a 'Find Me' option that you had to press and it was 'discoverable' for 30 seconds. Could be something similar.

just found out that the dext does not support bluetooth file sharing, its only use is to pair with hands free only.
