Need to change Samsung u800 mobile phone software

    Hello
I just purchased an unlocked Samsung u800 mobile phone but it still has the T mobile software installed. Is there anything i can do myself to remove this software safely without damaging the phone?
Any help would be appreciated,Thank you.

Have a look around & read here. You will need to register before you can download.

The site has changed recently & there's a lot of missing files. But you can get the firmware from the site, the flash programs & tutorials can be found else where if not available on site.

It's very hard to brick a Samsung phone so I wouldn't worry to much.

As Canker says it's pretty much hard to stuff a U800, but always ensure you have a fully charged battery before you start... If it does require a second flash because the first was unsuccessful then having a full battery is a must as you'll not be able to charge the battery until you have working firmware on the handset!

If you look at the linked site above they do have some firmware available for the wave.

What network is it currently on?

If it's on Orange then installing generic software will give you some of the missing apps.
But networks like vodafone & 3 generaly leave the firmware alone, so you wouldn't gain much by changing it.
