    Blackberry. :@

okay not having alot of good luck with the 8520
had it for a week then the screen broke so thought id send it off to be fixed.
    so i did for ?45.
enjoyed it for just over a month now and then was on the xbox today and because i sit in a gaming chair everythings on the floor and my phone is always on my lap.
picked it up because i got a text and dropped it for about 5 inches of the ground picked it up and have got white lines all down it again just what happened before so in a bit of a pickle now whether just to send it off to a recycling phone agency thing or to fix it :/
has been the highlight of my day i can tell you that

This was always going to be a nightmare for broken screens. To be honest, if you want a blackberry, buy a propper blackberry. Not one designed for the 'Nokia nutters'. The only protection the screen has is a thin flexable piece of plastic. Aim as high up the numbers as you can, the 9700 being the top model.

But replacing the screen will be cheaper. It will cost you somewhere between ?10 & ?30 for an LCD off ebay, but you need the details from the current LCD to ensure compatibility. Fitting is quite easy. This will, of course, void any warrenty you may or may not have.

Put it on ebay, some moron will buy it. Just list it as Faulty & describe the problem, also put the cheapest lcd price you can find listed. Your reason for not fixing it yourself is that you're getting your new upgrade in a couple of days.

There are people paying upto ?50 at the moment for a blocked handset. They're listed as 'signal problem' & 'can't make or recieve calls'

Ebay is as good as any. You will need to remove the current LCD to get the model details. Unfortunatly there are about 8 different versions & you have to match it correctly.

Have a look at ForMyMobile.co.uk, they have disassembly guides & sell mobile parts. There's always trusty youtube for video guides as well.

                Yes.

But not for free. Ebay, on-line unlocking site or a shop. You're looking at between ?8 & ?15

                    that must be hard

8520 got its own screen protector outside its own real screen. it must be hard to break it.
