Importing contacts to Android from windows mobile?

Can anyone please tell how to import my contacts from windows mobile 6 into android 2.1

This is what I have tried.

1 Exported contacts from windows mobile into csv format
2 Imported into google mail ( I can see all the contacts there now with phone numbers etc)
3 Exported from google mail as vcf & saved to sd card
4 Imported from Sd into Contacts on Android phone

I have also tried syncing them directly from google mail & android contacts but the end result is the same!

The problem is theAndroid contacts appear without the phone numbers. But if I click on a contact then all the details appear including numbers but in the notes.

    What am i doing wrong?

    Thanks

I had the same problem. the numbers there but its down as the wrong field and as such google just sees it as an optional thing not a contact phone number. I just edited each contact and whist i was doing it moved them to the android folder in google contacts. I saw it as a bit of a tidy up.

If you wanted though i think if you edited the CSV file and changed the phone number field to the one that matches google contacts. Ie from "contact number" to "Phone Number" or something along the lines of, google should pick it up as a the phone number when imported

try exporting a good contact from google contacts in csv to get the ideal format and what the correct name of the "Phone Number" field is (that was just a guess)
I can fix that for you no problems, just let me find my good hammer..

Thanks for that Furax I will try that, with one number & see how it goes!

In google mail after I had imported them from windows mobile, i did check the numbers, that they where in the right place (cellphone contacts etc).

Maybe Android likes them in a different headings, so will play with.

Not looking forward to editing approx 700 numbers, is there a way of automating it?

Sorted it. It was another utilty (TBExport) that was messing up.

        Imported into outlook.
        Exported from outlook into googlemail.
Exported .vcard onto sd (because quicker this way than to do it over gsm network)

Ps: do googlemail export as vcard not vcf
