All BB5 require a cable unlock unless you buy the code from one of the many IMEI to unlock code services or your provider.

SL3 can now be unlocked via server (with suitable hardware of course) but the cost is still outrageous!!

If you can wait I've heard rumours of an imminent price war on SL3 unlocking...

If you're in the UK have a look on google for fonefun shop.

They have a mail service for SL3 handsets, but it costs around ?30 onwards. They can also debrand some models.

The server options are also similarly priced...that's after you've found a shop that's actually willing to pay for the credits.

i thought there was a free solution but it seem it requires to buy some tools like MT-box for ex.

i was just doing a favor fore a friend no point to spend money. the normal 5130 where easy to unlock.

        regards

The previous 5130 was the Orange/T-Mobile 1800MHz version of the 5110. Quite vintage now!

Nokia tightened up their SIM lock procedures in 2004 shortly after the locking algorithm was placed in the public domain! Ever since it's been cat and mouse trying to unlock Nokia's.

Samsung were previously easier to unlock than any other handset on the market but these have gone the same route as Nokia!

Here in South Africa it's quite the reverse, it's illegal for networks to sell locked handsets!

i use several unlock boxes and yes server unlock credits for them are still expensive unfortunately the days of unlocks for a fiver are dying out unless its a samsung/lg or se but not the latest like x10 etc
