    Connecting Huawei to Android 2.1 zt180

    hi does anyone know how to get this Huawei Dongle to work on a Android tablet?

    i can get the signal to appear on dash but no wat to connect to it to go online

    I don't know the Android tablet but assuming it has drivers for the Huawei installed and working. I think the E220 ones are and these should be OK.

    If it were a PC and the drivers are loaded OK and you had no dashboard software installed for example, I'd go to Dial Up Networking and set up a profile to use the Huawei 3G Modem! Set with a dial string (or phone number) of just *99# and that should do the job.

    I'm not sure if you can transpose this to the Android tablet?

    The Huawei is just a modem and actually uses good old Hayes commands. However it can get confusing because the device can take up three COM ports: One for the modem, one for the user interface and one engineering/test port.
