    Nothing for free!

There was a online service that used to patch the phone to unlock it but if you used the SE update service it would brick the phone!

Well when you find it let me know. We currently have to pay for the codes from Sony Ericsson or the network.

Short of breaking into Sony Ericsson's factory mate you're out of luck... Same for almost every modern handset on the market!

Please only post if you have sensible information!!

How much did you pay for the service?

Keep in mind I and the two other posters in this thread are permanently employed in the cellular trade... So we know it was not for free!!

Yes please enlighten us, I've got an x10 that I'm selling on ebay & it would probably fetch more ? if unlocked.

software that a friend had purchased think it allowed him to unlock up to 10 handsets.

so although it was free for me I do agree with what use are saying as i hunted high and low and had no joy.

surely someone out there must at least think about hacking these programs, why have they not?

Most of the programs now link to servers to do their work!

Only expensive hardware solutions are without restrictions for unlocks... Even some of these have annual subscriptions!!

If you're going to unlock at least 30 pieces plus you'll probably get your money back. Sad thing is Sony Ericsson only have around 8.3% market share which makes SE unlocking devices less attractive for unlockers. The manufactures of these devices sell less so they hike the price and so starts the never ending circle!!

Here in South Africa networks are forbidden to lock their handsets by law and that includes pre-pay handsets! So getting your money back is close to impossible on a SE based tool. Forgotten security codes and de-branding is the only way I can cover the cost of such items and my tools are for Nokia, Motorola & Samsung. Sony Ericsson have probably 2 - 3 % of the market here, there are no Sagem or Alcatel handsets and so investment in tools for these is pointless. There are a few LG handsets around but there are various free tools to factory reset the phone and therefore the security code - Brute force but it works!

I do quite a few 3G/HSPA dongle modem unlocks for those that can't be unlocked by calculator and even this is server based! These are for people usually returning from working overseas... Not local stuff...
