i was wondering if anybody can help me i have a sony ericsson w580i walkman phone its crrently on t mobile is there any codes that i can tap into the fone to make it any network or do i have to take it to the shop to get it unlocked

It will be easier if you take it to a shop. If you have bought this second hand try typing this into the phone using the direction pad & * key...

In the phone info option, usually top of the list, there's an option for the SIM lock. This will tell you if it's locked or unlocked, a closed padlock means locked.
